This is one of Istanbul’s best kept hotel secrets… the Senatus Hotel. Spent three (3) wonderful days there, the hotel is very clean, modern, inexpensive, and has the quality and standards of a five (5) star hotel; convenient location minutes away from Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Bazaar, waterfront, Tramway, souvenir shops, restaurants, carpets & china shops, night life, and convenient stores.
The Senatus Hotel rooms includes free Internet service, in-room coffee & tea & mini-bar, A/C, hair dryer, safe, and breakfast with honey, preserves, assortment of meats & cheeses, olives, egg, juice, tea/coffee, with breads & butter, not to mention the 32” flat screen TV mounted to wall w/remote. The room interior design is modern and well appointed with slipper, robes, nice clean linens & towels, and even a candle; I personal enjoyed the shower with its rainforest shower head and glass enclosure. I stayed in the “economy room,” which was small, quiet, and comfortable, even for two (2) people. While I didn’t take advantage of it, the Senatus Hotel also has a sauna.
The Senatus Hotel staff were very friendly, helpful, and assisted me with all my questions on how to get here and there including maps and computer print outs. And upon my return, wanted to make sure I found everything alright. It is my intentions to return to the Senatus Hotel, I’m definitely going to highly recommend to family and friends. They really made my stay and I feel welcome, appreciated, and safe.
