The Name SERAGLIO…
A Seraglio (also Serraglio) is the sequestered living quarters used by wives and concubines in a Turkish household from an Italian variant of “saray”, meaning ‘’palace’’, or ‘’enclosed courts’’ in Turkish.
“The Seraglio" may also refer specifically to the Topkapi Palace, the residence of the Ottoman Sultans in Istanbul.

Hotel Seraglio is located in the heart of world famous heritages in the historical Sultanahmet district of Istanbul.
The great monuments of the Byzantine and Ottoman Empires, the Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, Archeology Museum, Hippodrome of Constantinople, Thutmosis' Obelisk, The Walled Obelisk and Serpent Column are just a few minutes away on foot.
All the other major touristic places are within walking distance. Such as; Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar and Golden Horn. You can aslo go to Taksim/ Beyoglu (city centre) in 15 minutes by tram or streetcar.

Very nice hotel at great location! We had room 303 with terrace and beautiful view on the blue mosque. Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia only 5 min walking distance. Also very friendly personnel!!!
The time we stayed at the hotel (March 2010), the last touches to finish the hotel were done (painting restaurant), so by now it should be perfect!!!
