“A lovely hotel in an outstanding location!” Warm reception upon our arrival by Sebastian! He was so helpful from the very first day we arrived. The hotel has an excellent location, walking distance to the Grand Baazar, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and many restaurants. If there is one place that I have enjoyed staying at, it sure was this one! Our room was impeccable, clean, cozy and just what we had seen in photos. Sebastian booked our bus tickets to Fethiye and worked so so hard on it, as everything was almost fully booked (he found the last two seats!) provided outstanding service, he even bought the tickets for us. The breakfast as well was wide in variety and abundant, loved it all!!! It was truly remarkable stay, in such an amazing city!

“Nice - but not 4*” Our initial views of the hotel were somewhat marred by the fact that there was a mix-up with our pick-up at the airport and we had the journey from hell from the airport to the hotel. Also, the steep 3 flights of stairs to our room - on the top floor - was something of a toil for my 5 month pregnant daughter - but the other rooms were so very small! Room was very clean, bright and welcoming however. The 'terrace' should be ashamed of itself - it is literally a very grey, concrete balcony - such a great shame as this could have been made into a lovely feature. The pictures on the website show the breakfast area to be very large (as it does all its rooms) but this is not the case. Breakfast was very disappointing - even me requesting a slice of lemon to go with my hot water was denied! We didn't bother going downstairs for the meagre breakfast again as the choice was very bland. Also - do note that the hotel sits in the middle of a pretty steep hill although in terms of its location it's pe fect for the grand bazaar, blue mosque etc. The hotel grew on us after our initial disappointments and although it turned out to be pleasant it is definitely not 4*. Room Tip: The largest room seems to be the one at the very top - but be prepared for LOTS of stairs!

“A lovely hotel in a great location” A lovely hotel with excellent and very friendly service. The rooms were neat, tidy and clean. A good location, as many major attractions are walking distance from the hotel. However the hotel is off the main road and you do need to walk up part of the hill to reach the main road.

“Another wonderful stay” 1 Second stay at this beautiful boutique hotel and yet again wasn't let down staff or rooms. Rooms are neat and tidy, fresh and clean and beautifully made up every day by very attentive cleaning staff. All staff are friendly and warm without imposing too much and are able to offer advice and help to any traveller. The hotel is positioned perfectly for anyone wanting to visit the major tourist attractions on foot as they are all within walking distance. The hotel is down a working street with lots of little shops which just adds to the charm of the place and is far better than staying on the main road. We will definitely be back when we next visit Istanbul and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

“Excellent Location, Great Price & Friendly Staff!” Located in what seems to be one of the next up and coming areas of the city... This hidden gem in Istanbul is a great find for travelers around the world! The rooms are very well kept, spacious and clean. From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel right at home. The location is about an 8 minutes walk to Hagia Sofia, the Bazaar, Blue Mosque and many restaurants... which makes it excellent for sight seeing. Breakfast (for me a key ingredient) is excellent and more than plenty! - A.

Gedik Pasa Konagi is well placed to begin a visit to Istanbul. It is within easy walking distance of all the famous and not so famous tourist sites. Mind you it does depend on the weather. situated in a steep cobblestoned and traffic heavy narrow street filled with Bufe, cafe, kebap, baklavaru, shoe, clothing shops and their manufacturing shops it is truly a breath of Istanbuli life. The hotel is staffed by friendly and extremely helpful staff who are genuinely interested to help. The concierge is card player of great ability so if you have a spare hour he is only too willing to help pass the time. Rooms are clean and well maintained though don't expect to much from the mini-bar. Best to shop at the Bufe on the corner. Gedik Pasa Konagi is around 300 years old and on the foundations of an even older building as the breakfast cellar arches show. If you have mobility problems the hotel is not for you. Steep spiral stairs lead up from the road into the hotel, up to all the flloors and down to breakfast cellar. When considering the hotel also consider the fact that there are apartments, workshops, traffic, gatherings and not so thick walls so the sounds of humanity are all around you. Apart from that its position, position, position. Enjoy.

All up the room was quite nice, bed was comfy bathroom was very nice if not a lttle cosy. Wifi was ok. The staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was really good, amazing bread, meats and olives etc etc.
Location was great, only around 150m to the grand bazaar which proved worth it as you could drop off all your shopping. only a 10 min walk past 100s of restaurants to the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia etc etc yet out of the bustle of inner city Istanbul.
Only drawbacks were that my tur had no idea where the place was which made drop offs and pick ups interesting although I am not sure they had a map. Also came home one afternoon to find someone (a staff member) having a shower in my bathroom.
I would probably stay there again, everything was very new. I suggest trying out the restaurant if breakfast was anything to go by.

Clean hotel, very hospitable owner, friendly staff, traditional but safe area. Convenient and fast moving on feet to Capali Carsi "The Grand Bazaar" (10 min), to Hagia Sophia, Top Kapi & Blue Mosque (45 min), to tramcar (10 min), to Turkish Hamami (5 min), to Galatas Bridge Eminonu (70 min). Ratio of cost and quality of service, pretty good.

My stay at Hotel Gedik Pasa Konagi, although brief, met all my needs in regard to costs, comfortability, and providing travelling advice. Not being able to speak Turkish was not a problem as some of the very friendly staff could speak English. I felt more welcomed by this and was able to plan my time there efficiently along their guidelines. Having all these attributes and additionally being within walking distance of most of Istanbul's outstanding attractions, I would gladly recommend Hotel Gedk Pasa Konagi to any traveller.

Good Part: -clean -friendly staff -safe -250m from Grand Bazar
Not so good part: -250m from the tram stop. And hotel is on the slop. So it may be a concern for ppl with disabilities - according the European standards its a 3star hotel not a 4star
Bottom line: -Hotels in Istanbul (even the expensive 5 star ones) are notorious for lack of safety, cleanses and friendly staff. -According to European standards all the Istanbul hotels are rated one or one and half stars more than they should be.

Hotel property is fantastic - spacious rooms, top quality designer finishes everywhere Service - friendly, attentive, made the experience memorable and nice Location - just a short walk to the main light rail stop with access to Sultanhamet. Also in a neighborhood off tourist track that features another character of the city tourists would normally miss. Thank You!!!
