The Amber Hotel is an old Ottoman house transformed into a nice small, special class hotel. The hotel is located in the Old Town, in an area called Kumkapi, the palace of the fish village, and is really close to Sultanhamet. The hotel is within five minutes walk of the Blue mosque, Grand Bazaar and all other main attractions in the old city. The modern area, with the centre in Taksim, is only a few kilometres away and is easily reached with a short taxi ride. The hotel has just went into a deep renovation and now is maybe one of the best hotels in the area.

Perfect option for the traveller who wants a hotel with a good location and friendly atmosphere. Recommended.

The exterior looks like an Ottoman-style mansion. It has been well taken care of and is now in perfect condition.

The hotel has its own restaurant offering wonderful views of Istanbul and a good selection of Turkish traditional dishes as well as international choices. The hotel also has a garden bar with a selection of cocktails and drinks. In addition there is the coffeeshop, where guests can find a selection of hot and cold drinks, and the famous Turkish coffee.

The reception is small in keeping with the size of the hotel.

This small hotel has 24 rooms of different shapes and sizes but each room offers a television, minibar, telephone and individually controlled air conditioning. The bathrooms are small but clean and include hairdryers.

15 kms to the nearest airport (ataturk), 15 minute walk to the nearest metro station (aksaray), 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop, Close to the station (kumkapi).
